Another huge influence in using DSLR cameras for video is Vincent Laforet. Acknowledged as one of the videos that started it all, Reverie, was a game changer.
Director/DP – This was the first 1080p video widely released that was shot with the Canon 5D MKII. It was viewed more than 2 million times in the first week of its release.
I cannot believe that this video was posted 2 years ago at this point.
As an aside, when I went to college in the 90’s, I had a few friends in the film department. It is really interesting to recognize how the technology has changed over the last 18 years which has enabled filmmakers to create amazing looking videos with minimal cost. Although you still have to be able to tell a good story.
