Over the last few years I’ve had to travel for work a couple of times a year. It always struck me that even though you’re in an interesting city doing interesting things, the feeling you get when you’re back in room can often be a somber one.
I don’t like watching TV when I travel, so I started shooting timelapse footage out of the various windows of the various hotels in which I stayed.
This film is an attempt at capturing that odd somber mood that sometimes comes when you travel alone. The music track is called “First Light” off of Brian Eno’s Ambient 2: The Plateaux of Mirror.
