Time Coasting by pocketrubbish

Timelapse I made over 2014. This video represents around 12,000 individual shots and thousands of miles traveled.

The most fascinating part to me is the amount of airglow visible, hence the beautiful reds and greens you see in the night skies.

All shots containing movement were done with a jib/dolly/pan head I built and by an Arduino and software I (poorly) wrote.

I used a Canon 6d with a Rokinon 14mm 2.8 Cine for most of the shots but a few were done with my Canon 1100D + Tokina 11-16 2.8.

Post processing was kept to a minimal, mostly color correction/levels/cropping/deflickering.

Did you know there’s other places that look even better than Venice? Probably not. So here’s our video from our beautiful capital, Stockholm, showing why you should visit us instead of Italy which is way too warm for you anyways.

The clips was created during the past year and the focus was to capture different bodies of water around the city and get some nice reflections.

Tribute in Light

The Tribute in Light is an art installation of 88 searchlights placed next to the site of the World Trade Center to create two vertical columns of light in remembrance of the September 11 attacks. It is produced annually by The Municipal Art Society of New York. It initially ran as a temporary installation from March 11 to April 14, 2002, and was launched again in 2003 to mark the second anniversary of the attack. As of 2013, it has been repeated every year on September 11. It had been announced that 2008 would be its final year, but the tribute was continued in 2009. On December 17, 2009, it was confirmed that the tribute would continue through to the tenth anniversary of the attacks in 2011, but continued again in 2012. As of July 23, 2012, plans are underway for the National September 11 Memorial & Museum to assume the lease for the MTA property used during this tribute, and to begin transitioning operation of the tribute from the Municipal Art Society to the memorial foundation.

The two beams cost approximately $1,858.56 (asuming $0.11 KwH) to run for 24 hours. There are 88 spotlights (44 for each tower) which each consume 8,000 watts.

Bon Iver – Hinnom, TX Lyrics

Fall in
Fall out
Fall along

In the first of light
Past the Noachide
Bodies wrapped in white

Stranded every pain
Baby, pasts are slain
“I got outta La Grange”

In Hinnom
All this time
With your heart in mind
Didn’t you edit?

In Hinnom
Go, the least
And the precious feast
The in-vetted

Sand, it starts to steal
Dirt and ice imbed in cheeks
In the potter’s field

Solar peace
Well, it swirls and sweeps
You just set it

Strangers scattering
Nether passage in the wind
Off pennant tension ring

Armor, down
On the wettest ground
Not to vet it
